Why a walker or rollator needs more than a wipe-down
The handgrips are the point. Every step you take puts your palms on them, and foam or textured rubber grips hold onto that far better than a smooth surface does. Wiping them with a household spray does not reach into the texture.
Folding walkers and rollators have hinges, pivots, and telescoping legs that collect grit. That grit is what makes a folding mechanism stiff and a height adjustment stick.
Rollator seats and under-seat pouches carry everything — groceries, medication, a water bottle that leaked six months ago. Nobody ever cleans the pouch.
How We Clean Walkers & Rollators
The same disciplined process every time. No shortcuts.
Handgrips and contact points
Grips, brake levers, and the frame anywhere your hands land get cleaned and then disinfected. On foam and textured grips we work the cleaner into the texture instead of skimming the top.
Frame, joints, and adjustments
The full frame gets hand-washed, and we clear grit out of the folding hinges, pivot points, and telescoping leg adjustments so the thing actually folds and adjusts the way it did new.
Seat, backrest, and pouch
On a rollator, the seat, backrest strap, and storage pouch get steam-cleaned — inside the pouch included. This is where the odor usually is.
Wheels, casters, and tips
Wheels and casters are cleaned and cleared of hair and thread wrapped around the axles. Rubber tips on a standard walker get scrubbed so they grip instead of skating.
